Martha Orban (Hubbard)

Martha "Dee Dee" Orban Hubbard, 74, Chehalis, Washington, passed away September 17, 2011, at St. Peters Hospital, Olympia, Washington.  She was born in Pasadena, California on January 29, 1937, to Paul Orban Sr. and Elisabeth Crowell Orban.  After graduating high school, Martha attended Washington State University, Pullman.

Martha and Robert James Hubbard were married December 28, 1955 in Pasadena.  During her marriage she worked as a scheduler for substitute teachers and at a local candy shop, but volunteering in the maternity ward was her passion.  Martha loved quilting, sewing, and painting.  She was very active in First Baptist Church, Chehalis, WA.

Martha is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert Hubbard, Chehalis, WA; sons William (Elisabeth) Hubbard of Port Ludlow, WA, Thomas (Kelly) Hubbard, Elk, WA, and Paul (Terri) Hubbard, Chehalis; and seven grandchildren.  Brother Paul Orban Jr (SPHS '53), Glendale, California and sisters Elisabeth Anderson, Los Gatos and Sara Orban, Oakland.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
