Polly died in Reno, Nevada after a lengthy struggle with Parkinson's disease. Her husband, high school sweetheart, Gary Derenia '62, and their two daughters, Carol and Colleen and their husbands, were with her when she died. Polly is also survived by her sister, Francine Springer Sandahl '61.
