John Thompson Boyle was born March 28, 1930 in Los Angles to John and Mary Thompson Boyle. John passed away peacefully on February 22, 2017 after a brief illness, surrounded by his family.

John attended South Pasadena-San Marino High School. He enrolled at University of California, Berkeley where he was affiliated with Beta Theta Pi fraternity. It was at Cal that John met Sally Hinman of Piedmont and they were married in April 1952. John had a successful career in the insurance industry, retiring in 1996. John was active in the City of San Marino as their Recreation Commissioner, a board member of the Girl Scout Council and president of the San Marino Republican Club. He was a member and past president of San Gabriel Country Club, and president and member emeritus of Club La Grulla in Baja, California.

John is survived by his wife Sally; his daughter Casie (Gary) Armstrong of Newport Beach; and his son John (Lynn) Boyle of Altadena. He is predeceased by his daughter Cindy Forsch. John was blessed with eight wonderful grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
