Lois 'Christy' Christensen Seidel
October 20, 1927 - May 21, 2024
Christy, a longtime resident of San Marino, passed away leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering friendship. Born in Alhambra to Harold and Edna Christensen, Christy was a beacon of warmth and kindness in the lives of all who knew her.
Christy was predeceased by her husbands, Dick Squire and Herm Seidel and her older sister, Lucile Christensen Brubaker '42. She is survived by her son, David Squire and her daughter, Diane Van Dalfsen.
A graduate of South Pasadena/San Marino High School in 1945, Christy went on to attend Occidental College, where she continued to foster the friendships that would last a lifetime. Throughout her years, she and her close-knit group of girlfriends remained inseparable - a testament to the deep bonds they shared since childhood. Summers spent with the family at Aliso Beach, Balboa Island, and Treasure Island in Laguna were among Christy's most treasured memories.
A member of San Marino Community Church for over 65 years, Christy dedicated her life to serving others. Whether acting as a Stephen minister, wedding coordinator, or memorial coordinator, she had an incredible gift for being exactly where she was needed, at precisely the right moment. Her service to the community also included 53 years as a volunteer at the gift shop at the Huntington Memorial Hospital. Christy had been an active member of the PEO women's organization since 1966, participating in raising scholarship money for young girls' continuing education.
