Peggy Paxton (Babby) - Class Of 1949

Peggy Paxton (Babby)

Margaret 'Peggy' Paxton Babby passed away March 21, 2013.  She was born on March 22, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Isabel and Legler Paxton; both parents and sister, Florence Paxton Bond (SPHS '48) preceded her in death.  Her best friend and loving husband of nearly 51 years, Myron Babby, also preceded her.  Peggy is survived by her son, Charles; daughter, Susan and husband, Carl Campbell; and two grandchildren.

Peggy attended South Pasadena High School in California and moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1949 to attend the University of Arizona where she joined the Pi Beta Phi fraternity.  Peggy was active in the Tucson community serving on the board of directors for the Arizona Children's Association; as past president of the St. Luke's Board of Visitors; in the Junior League of Tucson; Pi Beta Phi House Board; PEO Chapter J; as a life member of the Tucson Trap and Skeet Club; the Rocky Mountain Oysters and Club Deportivo in Kino Bay, Mexico.  Peggy served as "neighborhood mom" to many kids and always provided an open door to her friends and relatives.  She spent many years exploring the Sea of Cortez and the Canyons of Lake Powell with Myron and friends.  Her many international and US travels and adventures with friends and family will always be treasured.

Peggy will be remembered as an "awesome mom," the consummate hostess and a true friend; she will be greatly missed.
