John Gerds Clary

John Gerds "Jack" Clary, long-time Pasadena resident and business machine industry pioneer, passed away November 8, 2012 at the age of 86.  Born in San Mateo on November 3, 1926, the son of Hugh and Huldah Clary, Jack graduated from South Pasadena-San Marino High School in 1944.  He graduated from Stanford University in 1948 following enrollment in the US Navy V-12 program at the University of Colorado.

Jack married Barbara Palmer, his wife of 48 years, in 1956, moved to Pasadena shortly thereafter and resided in the same home ever since.  An inventor and entrepreneur, Jack had a distinguished business career as President of Addmaster and Clary Corporations, both electronics manufacturers located in Monrovia.

Jack is survived by three children, John P. Clary of Pasadena, Hugh L. Clary of Newport Beach, and Madeline Berglund of Grantsburg, Wisconsin; his sister, Patricia J. Clarke of Toronto, Canada; and seven grandchildren.
