Elaine Jacobs Erven passed away surrounded by family on November 17, 2018. She was born on August 13, 1940. She married Wayne Erven in 1963 and they settled in Pleasanton in 1976 building deep roots in the community. She was widowed after 52 years of marriage.

Elaine is survived by the 'Erven Army,' including her children:  Nanci, Karen, Joy, James, and Wendy. She is also survived by seven grandchildren:  Arielle, Gunner, Jesse, Jake, Annalise, Shaely, and Sophie, and four great-grandchildren:  Charlotte, Branson, Beau, and Thorin. Her door was always open and she had many devoted friends.

Elaine was a teacher for 32 years, most of those were spent teaching children in Pleasanton. Elaine was a member of PEO for 53 years. She helped many young women receive grants, scholarships, and loans through PEO.
