Lois Kilgore Weishoff
January 27, 1941 - June 23, 2026
Lois passed peacefully, at the age of 85, in Carmichael, California, at Treasured Ones Senior Living. Lois was born in South Pasadena to her parents, John and Peggy Wallis Kilgore '36. She had three brothers. She is survived by her brother, Larry Kilgore '60 and his wife, Jan of Colorado. She was preceded in passing by her brothers, Norman Kilgore '57 and Martin Kilgore '62.
Lois attended South Pasadena High School and Pasadena Junior College. Some of her fondest childhood memories were of family camping trips to the beaches of Southern California each summer. Lois was married to Reverend Robert Weishoff for 58 years until his passing in 2018. She loved being a pastor's wife, and her devotion to Bob and to the church was genuine and heartfelt.
Lois is survived by her children: Mark (Laura) Weishoff of North Dakota, Mathew (Kim) Weishoff of Oregon, Jonathan Weishoff of Montana, and Christine (David) Weinauer of Elk Grove California; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Lois cherished her family deeply and always made time to talk, play, teach a skill, bake, and offer loving advice whenever she had the chance. Lois spent most of her adult years as a typist and clerical support professional for many offices, including several church offices, where she went above and beyond in service to the congregations. She also volunteered at the Birth Rite clinic in Great Falls, Montana, helping women consider an alternative path in life while keeping their babies. Her true love was sewing and quilting. She enjoyed teaching at Stretch & Sew for a time with her longtime friend Peggy during the early years in Elk Grove.
When Bob and Lois moved to Montana, life became wonderfully full for them. She accompanied Bob on hunting and fishing trips, loved reading by the river, and admired the wildflowers. Walking with her dear friend almost every morning for more than 20 years and even driving through snowstorms to meet with her quilting group, became cherished parts of her life.
Lois had an uncanny ability to lead children, especially in junior choir, Sunday school, and Vacation Bible School. Through Bible study and her leadership in adult women's groups, she naturally shared the peace and grace of her Lord and Savior; applying her faith to life, marriage, relationships, and motherhood. Lois remained steadfast in her faith and devotion to her Lord, her family, and her friends. Through many of life's trials, she could not be shaken. From the lessons she learned from her parents and her husband, Bob, to the compassion and love she passed on to her children and friends, Lois knew that being a believer was the greatest gift of all.
