Linda Sigrid Omdal (Sanday)

Linda Omdal Sanday passed away on February 19, 2017 at her home in South Pasadena. She was born November 20, 1940 in Los Angeles to Astrid and Joe Omdal. She graduated from South Pasadena High School in 1958 before attending Pasadena City College where she met her husband, Dr R Steven Sanday. They were married in 1962.

Linda and Steve started their life together in San Francisco where she graduated from San Francisco State University and began her elementary school teaching career. She taught in San Francisco and then eventually in Pasadena after she and Steve moved back to South Pasadena and bought their first home. Several years later, they started their family and welcomed three children.  Linda spent the rest of her life as a dedicated wife and mother. She and Steve enjoyed 49 years of marriage before he passed away in 2012.

Linda was committed to serving her church through various ministries and also enjoyed her charity volunteer work. In 2013 she joined the Assistance League of Pasadena where she spent countless hours working at the Treasure Fair. Linda was an avid gardener and was often admired for her beautiful yard. She cherished her family and was elated that she was going to be a grandmother of twins for the first time this April.

Linda is survived by her three children:  Jeff (SPHS '89), Brian (SPHS '91), and Erika (SPHS '95), as well as her sister Diane Omdal Langill (SPHS '53); nephew Mark Langill (SPHS '83) and niece, Natalie Langill Rayala (SPHS '85).
