FRIENDSHIP'S PROTECTOR

Sleepy now, and as life flows by
Memories fondly dwell on you
Memories set 'neath a star studded sky
on a hillside damp with dew

Then round and round they fleetingly dance
There's a mandolin strumming somewhere
And now 'neath a moon, just right for romance
We're driving, the wind's in our hair

My memories, a staunch heart's cocktail of dreams
shared with a measure of love
Aye, congruent hearts, our friendship's armoured mail
Shielding, protecting, with blessings from above
