Cay Coe (Lutz) - Class Of 1957

Cay Coe (Lutz)

Cay passed away May 24, 2015. Beloved wife, mom, and grandma - if you knew Cay, you know her life's motto was, "Family First."  Cay is survived by her husband Ross; her children Kary, Ken, Mary, Dave, and Mike; and nine grandchildren. Carolyn Ann Coe was born in Red Bluff, California, grew up in South Pasadena, and attended Occidental College and UC Santa Barbara. She married Ross Lutz in 1958 and they moved to Canoga Park in 1964 and to Fullerton in 1974.

Cay was an amazing seamstress, making formal and casual wear, doll clothes, and costumes for family and friends. She was an award-winning quilter, participating in the Quilters Circle at Fullerton First United Methodist Church, and part of the Stitches From the Heart group that met at Brea Recreation Center where she knit hats, sweaters, and blankets for newborns at hospitals nationwide. Cay lived a life of serving others. Her generosity of time and talent was abundant. In the early years of family life she was a Girl Scout leader, team mom, school and church volunteer, doing whatever was needed. She supported all her children and grandchildren's sporting and other activities. You'd never know she retired in 2004, as she gave tireless hours to Laguna Road School, Woodcrest Elementary, Golden Elementary, and the Fullerton Public Library, running the annual book sale for the Friends of the Library and serving as treasurer. The media center at Laguna Road School is now named the Cay Lutz Media Center.
