Ruth Starr Perkins (Roney) - Class Of 1909

Ruth Perkins Roney passed away October 19, 1973, in Santa Barbara, California after an extended illness.  Mrs. Roney was born in Milton, Massachusetts on June 22, 1891.  She was the daughter of Henry Amos and Eleanor Starr Perkins.  She resided in the Pasadena area since 1895.  She attended South Pasadena schools.

Ruth is survived by one daughter, Mrs. B.F. (Anita) Avery; three granddaughters and two great-grandsons, all of Santa Barbara.  She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Perkins Clay (SPHS '12) of Pasadena, Mrs. Walter (Louisa) Penwarden (SPHS '27) of South Pasadena; and one brother, Mr. Wentworth Perkins (SPHS '25) of Boise, Idaho.

Mrs. Roney was a member of St. James Episcopal Church of South Pasadena, Las Flores Chapter of D.A.R., the Braille Club of Pasadena and a past member of the Business and Professional Women's Club of South Pasadena.
