Joseph Paul 'Joe' Reardon - Class Of 1982

Joseph Paul 'Joe' Reardon

Joe Reardon

July 16, 1963 - December 6, 2020

Joe, born in Pasadena, passed away in Pasadena at Huntington Hospital at the age of 57 years.

Joe grew up in South Pasadena, raised by his mother, along with his seven siblings. He grew up surrounded by the good company of friends and family. He graduated from South Pasadena High School in 1982. He met his wife Glynn, in high school, and they began dating in college. He graduated with a BS in Business Administration from Cal State Los Angeles. He and Glynn were married in South Pasadena in 1989, raising their two children, Jocelyn and Grant, in Sierra Madre. He was a great father, always wanting to give his children anything and everything they could ever need. He was a kid at heart as well, and anyone who knew him knows how much he loved collecting toys, candies, foods, and drinks, and sharing them with those he loved. He had many hobbies he enjoyed, such as gardening, photography, fishing, and camping with friends to name just a few. His family adored him and lovingly considered him the best Uncle Joe in the world. He was a great friend who always loved telling the tales of his younger adventures and mischief with his buddies. He loved connecting with people and was always ready to stop and have a conversation with anyone willing. He loved hearing people's stories, sharing his own, and keeping in touch with as many people as he could. And nothing brought a smile to his face more than being able to help those in need or give to others. Acts of kindness, like giving away the jacket off his back when he knew it would make someone's day, brought him true joy. He had begun restoring furniture at a young age while helping his mother and later began taking woodshop classes. That would lead to him eventually setting off to start his own antique restoration business, Joseph Reardon Antique Restoration. With over 30 years of honing his craft, he had become well known in his industry and had so many wonderful and interesting stories about all of the people he had worked for, and pieces he had restored for them.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marie Reardon, as well as his siblings, John '74, Mary '79, and James Reardon '69. He is survived by his wife, Glynn Barry Reardon '82, daughter, Jocelyn (Spencer) Johnson; son, Grant Reardon; siblings, Timaree Reardon Keller '70, Laurie (Paul) Doyle '72, Ann Reardon '75, and Jennifer (David) Law '89; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
