Occupation/Career(s) Details:

Began working for Stewart Title Company in 1987 as a sales rep in the Newport Beach area. Actually ran into Mr. Cohen at a payphone on the Balboa Peninsula in '89. He looked the same and we conversed for quite a while. Great guy!
I became the sales manager after 5 years and then spent the final 20 years as the Division V.P. I retired in 2014..

Different places I have lived:

Prior to my work in the title insurance business, I spent around ten years in hospitality. Managing restaurants from Seattle to San Antonio and a few places in between.
While in the Air Force, I spent a year overseas on a NATO base in Keflavik, Iceland. I departed about 2 months before the famous chess match between Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky of the Soviet Union.

Family history living in South Pasadena:

My dad passed away around a year before my mom and stepdad moved the family to South Pasadena in 1963. My stepdad (Stan Sundin) was born in 1912 and grew up on Gillette Crescent in South Pas. He attended South Pasadena/San Marino HS and went to PCC when it was called by some other name. While attending PCC, his father was driving over the tracks north of Mission St and was hit by a train. Stan, who wanted to be a medical doctor, had to drop out of college to support his widowed mother and sister.

Family members who also went to SPHS:

My stepfather, Stan Sundin (class of '29) and my stepsister, Anne Sundin (class of '71)

Other SPHS graduates I keep in touch with:

Tom Halleran, Terry Shepro, John Hansen and just recently, Jim Cogan.

School Memories:

Simply too many to recall, most memories are of me getting into trouble.

Milestones & Epiphanies:

My two daughters are MY greatest achievement. I've been blessed, over and over again.

What's happening in my life now:

My wife of 30 years (Jana) found a beautiful log cabin overlooking Reno, NV three years ago. I spent the first two years fixing it up so it was presentable when the Shepro's came a calling. We are close to Lake Tahoe and there is always something to do. We bought two ATV's last year making our home a point of destination for family and friends.

Organizations and groups I (did or do) participate in (in high school and/or now):

I've never been one to join groups, but I am volunteering as a financial coach (Opportunity Alliance) assisting the homeless in getting back on their feet.

Pastimes & Hobbies:

Hobbies include fantasy sports, hiking, fishing, ATV dust ups and reading.

Favorite Music, Songs, Bands

I love every type of music; except rap.

Favorite Books, Magazines, Movies, TV etc:

Sports and vintage cars. Financial and political.

Additional Comments:

I enjoyed attending South Pasadena HS, not sure my instructors felt the same way about me. Our school has a wonderful history and all the teachers were great. I just wish I had taken it more seriously. I was more interested in girls and making my friends laugh. Pretty sad..

I'm sorry I had to pass on this year's reunion, especially it being our 50th.
Love the old South Pas gang!
