Family history living in South Pasadena
Family moved to South Pasadena in 1952, from ancestoral home, Indianapolis, IN. Sister Lucy (SPHS 1966) and I attended El Centro school (remember the roll up walls on hot days?). Lived at Monterey Road and Meridian Avenue. Childhood "gang" included Joan & Stuart Virgin, The Ledder Boys, the Steele Boys, the Snowden boys, the Wildoners, Colin & Susan Silvio, Melinda & Danny McCue, Gene Clark and sisters, Terry & Cindy Kaiser, Mary Fleming, Craig Chastain. Little League team was Hamlin & Hawkins, coach was Rich Clement's dad, with Lew Kaiser as co-coach. YMCA sports met many other kids from Lincoln, Oneonita (sp?) and Marengo. Boy Scout Troop 342, summers in the High Sierras, sold Xmas trees at 1st Federal Savings & Loan. Whew!! What memories.
