Additional Comments:

What about Sports that I have been Active in Since High School?
In 1974 I started Riding in Endurance Rides, starting with Western States 100 Mile Ride as My First Endurance Ride! It is a 100 Mile Ride Through the Sierras from Squaw Valley to Auburn, CA. The Ride Must be done in 24 Hours! It took me 23:47, but I made it and was Hooked on the Sport! I Rode Many More Endurance Rides and in 1976 I Placed THIRD in the Nation in AERC (American Endurance Ride Conference)
From There I tried some Ride & Tie Races, that is One Horse and Two Runner/Riders. One Team Member Rides and the Other Runs, the Rider Gets off the Horse and Ties it Up, The Runner Unties the Horse and Rides Past the Runner. Leap Frogging back and Forth over a Course of 30 to 50 Miles.
Next Came Triathlons, after doing one Multi-Sport, it was a Natural to try Triathlons! I learned how to Ride My Sons Bike, Swim in Open Water and I already knew How to Run. My First Triathlon was in the Early Years of the Sport and Not Many Women were doing Triathlons. I Placed Last in a Field of 33 Athletes, but I was the THIRD Woman Over All! Since that First Race I've done Countless Number of Triathlons, it is a Race that I Love! Swimming Biking and Running! I've done a Total of 5 IRONMAN Distance Races, Winning My Age Group in 2 of those Races and Going to the World IRONMAN Championship Race in Hawaii Twice! Once in 1994 and Again this Year 2012. There was a Long Break in My Races between 1995 and 2012 when My Training Time was Very Limited. At that Time I Made a Promise to Myself, that when I Retired I would get Back in Shape and Do it Again!
So after I Retired, I did just that! I Trained and in 2012 I Raced in an IRONMAN Distance Race, I Won my age Group and was the Oldest Female Finisher! That Qualified me to go to the World Championship Ironman Race in Hawaii, 2.4 Mile Swim, 112 Mile Bike and a 26.2 Mile Run!
In 2012 I completed 2 Ironman Distance Races, so I decided to take it easy this Year and Only do a Half Ironman Race. I did One and Won the Coveted Ironman World Championship Spot, in the World Championship Race again in Hawaii! That Race will be in October 2013. More Training to get Ready for the Full Ironman Distance Race!
