I worked in various fields of accounting throughout my working years. Then I got a yen to do some traveling and went to Truck Driving School. I drove big rigs for 4 years, 3 of them hauling oversized loads. I discovered that although you see the roads of this country, you never get to sight-see and there is no such thing as a day off or a guaranteed holiday at home. I have a very healthy respect for the truck drivers of this country now and I was very glad to get back into an office.

I also spent nine years as a professional singer with the Angelo Velocci Trio between 1969 to 1978. We performed about everything from Bach to Rock. Most of our bookings were in dinner-dance establishments. In those 9 years, I was working 6 nights a week as well as 5 days a week. Also in those 9 years of singing, we only had 2 weekends off.

My family moved to South Pasadena in 1948. My sisters and I all attended South Pasadena schools from Kindergarten through our Senior year. Barbara graduated in 1960, I graduated in 1962, and Margaret graduated in 1965.

The day it snowed! It was like somebody rang the Recess bell. It wasn't really snow in the truest sense......more slushy. Almost everybody was throwing slush-balls.

Other favorite thoughts take me back to my days as a Tigerette, when we had to borrow the Jr. High School Band and dress them in High School Band Uniforms so we could have a band in order to be able to perform at the football games. The SPHS band that year had only 12 members.

Currently my husband, Larry, and I are very active members in the Order of the Eastern Star. That organization alone takes up an amazing amount of our time.

We both love to hunt and fish. Additionally, I enjoy needlepointing and counted cross stitch.

We moved to De Kalb, Texas in October of 2017. We now live on 42 wonderful acres in our "Barndominium". We have 2 ponds and lots of trees. How we love the seclusion, the wild life, and the land. Our closest grocery store is Walmart in New Boston which is a 46 mile round trip. Needless to say, we do a lot of menu planning now. Such a drastic change from SoCal, but we couldn't be happier!

April of 2008, my husband, Larry, and I made a trip of a lifetime come true. Ever since my husband was about nine years old, he had wanted to go on safari in Africa. We made that happen! But we went a step further and went on two safaris in Southern Africa. We spent 10 days of hunting plains game in South Africa in the Northern Province of Limpopo. The meat from our hunting successes went to the local people. We have 11 very nice trophies to remind us of our adventures. Five of our trophies made the Safari Club International Record Book! We were fortunate to have a fantastic Professional Hunter!

After our 10-day hunt, we went on a 10-day camping Eco Safari which took us to Botswana and Zambia where we got some wonderful pictures of Victoria Falls and the Okavango Delta. It was truly a trip of a lifetime! We would go back in a heartbeat!
