My parents, Verner and Mary Doll moved to South Pasadena in 1946 looking for a better chance at the good life than Indiana offered.

In 1951, they built a house in SP that I lived in until college (and returned to a time or two!)

My dad died in 1966, my mom in 1983.

I last lived in SP about 1968. I no longer own the house on Rollin St., which doesn't much resemble the house I grew up in. (But it's BIGGER!)

-married Peggy in 1999

epiphany:
-the thing to deal with is the everyday life between the "accomplishments, life-changing events & realizations".

Used to paint and photograph, but you know, your friends can only hang so much of that up.

I've played harmonica since about a year out of high school, so I'm pretty good at it by now. (Still following the directions to get to Carnegie Hall, if you remember that old gag.)

I perform here and there, esp. blues and jazz, so if you're curious, hit me up!

(Peggy's family is from Hawaii, so we listen to lots of good stuff from the islands. My favorite, other than Izzy, is any good slack key player.)

I read most of the L.A. Times, daily.

I really liked "Deadwood" on HBO, but it did make me cuss too much, so I guess you can still be impressionable after 60.

What I did during my Summer vacation:

Played the 60th b'day party for blues/jazz singing great, Barbara Morrison at the John Anson Ford Theatre. Exciting to be in the company of a lot of really, really good musicians! (Hope I faked it well enough ;-)
