One last comment...

I consider ladies' skirt lengths when making investment decisions. When the economy is booming and everyone is happy, skirts become entertainingly short. When the economy is collapsing and gloom is everywhere, skirts reach for the floor. If skirts settle at mid-calf, it is anyone's guess.

MILITARY dates of service

Novmber 12, 1953 to October 26, 1956

MILITARY Rank

Lt JG

MILITARY special schools or training I attended:

Officer Candidate School
Navy Supply Corps School

MILITARY medals, commendations, or service awards I received:

Korean War Service Bar

MILITARY duties were:

Installing Tennis Courts at the new Supply Corps School in Athens, Georgia.

Disbursing Officer on the USS Bairoko, a small aircraft carrier being
"mothballed".

Supply Officer for two years on the USS Samuel N Moore, a destroyer. During this time we had two six-moth trips to the Far East to patrol the Formosa Straights--a strip of ocean that separates Formosa (now Taiwan) from mainland China.

MILITARY locations I was stationed:

Providence, Rhode Island
Athens, Georgia
San Diego, California
Long Beach, California

MILITARY memories or Veteran Stories I’d like to share:

Auditing the office of a Supply Officer who had speculated in Philippine pesos with ship's money unsuccessfully, and then moved to Argentina.

Convincing the Navy they should retain a Chief Petty Officer who had a drinking problem, he problem only arose when he was on LIBERTY, and otherwise was an excellent baker and cook and leader of the food operation. In other words, the Navy was the best place for him, because it minimized his exposure to drinking and retained his great talent and skills.
