Eric Swanson Gill
November 13, 1939 - July 8, 2015
We grieve the loss of Eric Swanson Gill, our son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend. Eric was a learned man, an avid reader of history and science and follower of world and domestic politics. He was master craftsman, possessing the hand skills and expertise of many trades. Eric was a lover of animals, and daily walked in the Rillito River wash in the company of his dogs. Eric appreciated a fine cup of coffee in the morning and a good beer in the evening. He was a seasoned desert dweller, living in Tucson as a boy and returning back to Arizona to raise his family.
Eric is survived son, Shawn (Monika) of Long Beach, California, son, Dale (Greta) of Tucson, Arizona, and daughter, Heather Gill of Tacoma, Washington; grandchildren, Maya, Bjorn, Ava, Dean, and Tristan; father, Norval "Jo" Gill and sister, Mary Gill Smith '61 of South Pasadena; nephews, Joseph and Erik Marks, niece, Alice Marks Atkins and family; former wife, Sharon Aitken Gill '63 of Tacoma, Washington, former brother-in-law Don Aitken '59 of Canyon Country, California, and nephew David Aitken and family; and many lifelong friends.
