Through 2029

Living in Portland's wonderful Pearl District where I have easy access to grandchildren (4) via our light rail system since I no longer own a car. From October - April I try to get away one week each month since that is our "gloomy season".

Since graduating from So. Pas. High, I've lived in Milwaukee, San Francisco, Tulsa, Pittsburgh, Long Beach, Grand Forks (ND), Sault Ste. Marie (MI), Corvallis (OR), Salem (OR) and now Portland.

My family moved to So. Pasadena in 1951 and we lived on Alhambra Rd. I went to Marengo kindergarten and then Holy Family School. We moved away briefly from 1956-1958 to Stockton, CA but returned when my father passed away. In 1958 we settled into a house on Stratford Ave. I went back to Holy Family, then the junior high and finally So. Pas. High.

My mother (Sue Wright) graduated from then So. Pasadena/San Marino High in 1932 as did my Uncle Bill in 1934. Three of my four brothers also graduated from So. Pas. High. Peter in 1962, Stephen in 1971 and John in 1973.
Peter is retired and living in Tucson, Stephen lives in the Bay Area and John lives in Las Vegas.

I've revised two SPHS songs that I use with my grand children.

Funny how those things come back to a person.
Even remember the Junior High Song

Probably got all three songs wrong but senior moments does that.

After four years of Jesuit college education (and of course 8 years of Catholic education at Holy Family school), I came to realize that Jesus is NOT divine and have pursued my religious needs through the Unitarian Church.
In the late 90's I finally came out as a gay man. While it was hard to do, my wife (at the time) and children have been very supportive.

Traveling is my hobby. I particularly enjoy researching the place I am going to and finding the best deal possible.

I have fond memories of both South Pasadena and So. Pas. High. It was really a very safe place for a young person to grow up. As the years have gone by I realize that not all youngsters are as lucky as we were.
