I remember some fun moments as a Member of the So Pasadena Tigers High School Football Team . I had never played organized Football until I decided to go out for Football at the urging of a classmate for my Senior Year ( what was I thinkin). I remember Coach Ray Solari was our Coach in Spring Practice his last year at So Pas. I admired Coach since he 1st came to Lincoln School and gave us kids a lecture on Dudism . I also used to see him every Sunday at Holy Family Church where I attended for many years. Anyway back to Football Spring Practice did not go so well I was playing inside Linebacker and I recall it may have been the 1st week of practice I had 2 Tigers bash into my leg one hit it high and one hit it low and low and behold that ended my Spring Practice. My leg was placed in a cast from over the knee to Ankle for the rest of Spring and part of Summer with partially torn /Strained Liagments on my right leg. I did return to the Tigers for Hell Week in the Fall of 72 and was able to make it through Hell Week and fortunate enough to suit up for every game on the Varsity Team for the 72 Season. I had the best seat in the house every Friday Night from the sidelines watching my teammates shine under the Friday Night Lines .. Coach Yang was kind enough to put me and the rest of the Scout Team Players in for a few plays throughout the Season and my one shining moment came when I recovered a fumble against Salesian at Cal State LA and rambled about 15 yds before being taken down . Great Memories and Great times and friends for life from that experience as a Tiger despite our 5-4 record for the year . On a positive note we did whip San Marino in 1972 28- 7 at Titan Stadium.
