Am just getting word today (12-14-25) that Freddie Salas has passed away.  He was listed as "In Memory" on the So Pas High School alumni website.  At this time I am sorry to say I don't have any other details.  I would sincerely like to know if there is a burial service and a memorial service scheduled. He was a wonderful, kind, generous person, a cherished and good friend for many years, and he overcame many very serious challenges in his life. May God eternally bless your soul my brother and may you rest in peace in Heaven with the love of Jesus Christ.

Freddie was an amazing and kind man who touched the lives of many. He did missionary work and helped a countless number of people who really appreciated his service. I wish I could give him one last hug, but it’ll have to wait until we meet again in the next life.

Blessed to have known "Frito"  as a called him Gonzalez Salas for over 65 years. We met as kids around 1959 growing up in South Pasadena.  Freddie and Frankie his twin brother lived about 4 houses away from our house on Monterey Road on the west side of So Pas. Freddie was a grade ahead of me with my Brother Bob while his Twin Frankie who was held back a year was in my grade. Freddie was very talented artist with a magnetic personality.
Some crazy and fun moments over the years with Freddie....so many but here are a few
One Summer while goofing around in our Backyard we made a rickity wooden ramp over our fence that we would jump off of into the ivy slope below us about a 6 ft jump. On one of my jumps My leg clipped a tree and  I was was left dangling upside down with my ankle caught in the tree limb. I was was hanging with my hands not able to reach the ground.  Freddie rushed over and and held me around the chest and lifted me up to unhinge my ankle to save the day. He always brought that experience up to me .. which he thought was hilarious ,,,
Not so hilarious was a Bloody Fist Fight in Darwin CA  that we both survived bloddy and bruised after that  I had with Freddie after he tried to kill me throwing a Rock at my head while were all walking in the Desert Heat. Why he threw the rock  I don’t know ..It may have been the High Heat and we were all delirious, Doyle Holt,  Danny Emery were along on that trip which thankfully ended with all of us coming back alive after shooting 22 rifles in the Open Desert where temps were well over 100 degrees throughout our stay . After High School lost touch with Freddie .. It was not until we were living in Sunset Beach, CA from 2010 - 2024  that I reconnected with Freddie.  I believe probably through Facebook .. Freddie came to our home in Sunset Beach for  several USC /UCLA Parties  we had and also gave me the idea to start Faren's Supper Club where we meet at Restaurants around So Cal with Friends.  Freddie attended most of the events we held from 2018 to present. Spent my outing  with Freddie on the Golf Course and had wonderful fellowship and fun at our Golf Outings. Freddie was a regular  and helped bring n golfers at at our annual Bobby Griffin Memorial Golf Social held at the Arroyo seco from 2016-2019.  I can't thanl Freddie enough for what he did to help us in those years. In  November of 2024 I met with Freddie in So Pasadena for Golf at the Arroyo Seco  followed by attending the UCLA vs USC game at the Rose Bowl. Freddie was a proud UCLA Alum huge fan of UCLA sports and grounded in his Christian Faith. Freddie lived  life to the fullest running his own successful business and traveling the world and sharing his  foodie posts and Amazing Travel adventures on Facebook. I will miss Freddie and I know that he is in Heaven . RIP my friend !
