William Louis Bendel - Class Of 1934

Pasadena Star-News (CA) - March 4, 2007

BENDEL-William Louis Bendel D.D.S., the long and fruitful life enjoyed by "Doc" came to its natural conclusion February 24, 2007. An only child whose own family grew to include 5 children, their 11 children and at his passing, 6 great grandchildren. He was a proud graduate of Stanford University and intended to become an M.D. but a soft heart lead him to the USC School of Dentistry. He served in WWII as a dentist and Naval Officer and returned to Pasadena to build a successful dental practice. He never wasted a moment of his life. The sky was there to fly his plane. The ocean was there for swimming, sailing and fishing. The mountains were there for hiking, skiing and hunting. He loved his family, enjoyed his friends and was dedicated to his patients and community. Billy lived an amazing life yet he found his greatest joy with his wife Susie who has shared his life for almost 20 years. It is her devoted love that has sustained him and that now sets him free.
