William Louis Bendel - Class Of 1934

William Louis Bendel

William Louis Bendel D.D.S., the long and fruitful life enjoyed by "Doc" came to its natural conclusion February 24, 2007. An only child whose own family grew to include five children, 11 grandchildren and at his passing, six great-grandchildren. He was a proud graduate of Stanford University and intended to become an M.D. but a soft heart lead him to the USC School of Dentistry.

He served in World War II as a dentist and Naval Officer and returned to Pasadena to build a successful dental practice. He never wasted a moment of his life. The sky was there to fly his plane. The ocean was there for swimming, sailing, and fishing. The mountains were there for hiking, skiing, and hunting. He loved his family, enjoyed his friends and was dedicated to his patients and community. Billy lived an amazing life yet he found his greatest joy with his wife Susie who has shared his life for almost 20 years. It is her devoted love that has sustained him and that now sets him free.
