Ruth Canary Turpin

November 5, 1903 - July 2, 1963

Ruth Canary Turpin of 2009 LeDroit Drive, South Pasadena, died Tuesday night in Huntington Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness. Mrs Turpin was for eight years a member of the South Pasadena School Board but was forced to resign last October because of her illness.

She had attended South Pasadena High School and University of Southern California. Her other affiliations included South Pasadena Woman's Club, American Red Cross, South Pasadena Recreation Department Commission, Altar Guild of St James Episcopal Church and the PTA which gave her an honorary Life Membership last January. Her activities in PTA were on the local, district and national levels.

Survivors include her husband, Miles A, and two sons, Miles J (SPHS '50) of San Marino and Anthony (SPHS '56), an ensign in the Navy.
