Jacob C Groenewegen

Jacob (Jake) Groenewegen, born April 3, 1903; died October 1, 2000 in his home in Palos Verdes Estates. He will be greatly missed by his wife Madeline; sister, Gladys Van den Steenhoven; step-children, Arthur R Schmidt, Madeline Martin, Gregory J Schmidt, and Ronald E Schmidt; eight step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren. He was the beloved uncle of numerous nieces and nephews and others in the Murphy family.

A long-time resident of Palos Verdes Estates, he worked for 29 years for Shell Oil Company and 25 years for Swagelok Company. He was a member of the Palos Verdes Breakfast Club, an active member of and served on the board of the Instrument Society of America. He was a past leader of the Boy Scouts in Long Beach.
