Gladys Ruth DeLancey

Gladys DeLancey, 22, of 1138 Meridian Avenue, South Pasadena, who met death yesterday in the airliner which crashed in the Laguna Mountains, was enroute home after serving in the WAVES for nearly two years, her parents said last night.

A graduate of the South Pasadena High School and Pasadena Junior College, Miss DeLancey enlisted in the WAVES shorly after her graduation from the junior college in 1944. While in the service she taught naval aviators the principles of blind flying.

She had received her discharge at Corpus Christi, Texas the day before the accident.
