Richard Clark Harris - Class Of 1959

Richard C. Harris M.D., '59 Ophthalmology, was born November 6, 1942 and passed away February 22, 2007, in Fresno, CA.

He attended South Pasadena High School, served as President of the Class of 1959 and received the Weldon Fair Play Award.  He graduated from Stanford University with honors and spent two years working in the Peace Corps in Ecuador, and was therefore fluent in Spanish.  Upon returning to the United States, he attended and graduated from medical school at the University of Southern California.  He then completed residency training in Opthalmology at the University of Southern California-Los Angeles County Medical Center.  He had been associated with Valley Eye Institute in Fresno and Merced since 1998.

Richard was the son of Verne and Alice Clark Harris, and is survived by his brother James A. Harris ('59) and Jim' s wife Marilyn Gates Harris ('59), sister Jeanne Harris Armstrong ('63) and Verne D. Harris ('71).

RICHARD "BO" HARRIS, WAS ONE OF THE NICEST, SMARTEST, MOST HUMBLE PEOPLE I KNEW IN HIGH SCHOOL............LEFT TOO SOON.
