I didn't know Pam well because we traveled in different circles. However, we both had brain tumors, although I was more fortunate than she was.

Vaya con dios, Pam

Pam  started at Oneonta in 5th grade. Everyone absolutely adored how cute and sweet she was.  So it came as a little surprise that she’d want to hang out with me.

She and her older sister and mom lived on Huntington Drive. It was on the walk home for me, and I guess she needed someone to play with after school, especially on parent conference days.

We had a mutual friend, Margo Kingan, whose mom and older sister lived with Margo’s grandparents on Milan. They had a setback house with an enormous grassy front yard. Her grandfather, who we knew as “Bobpop” would spend hours after school playing with us. Margo's grandmother did not approve, especially when he’d take us all for ice-cream.

When Margo moved and we no longer had a welcome at her grandparents house, Pam and I drifted apart, too. In Jr. Hi. it did not take long for Pam to become one of the “popular kids.” And we pretty much had different groups. I was really happy to see that at our 10th reunion, Pam was working with people I had more identified with. It would have been nice to know her better after High School.

RIP, Sweetie :-)
