In Memory

Alice Munson (Brockmeyer) - Class Of 1965

Alice Munson Brockmeyer  '65  succumbed to anaplastic thyroid cancer on July 22, 1999.  She left behind myself, Linze, her husband, as well as four sons, David, Chris, Will, and Jessie, and three grandchildren, Alex and Sophia (David) and Anton (Jessie).

Alice fought her disease as hard as she could and felt, almost to the end, that she would beat it.  She died at her beloved home in the mountains with all of her family by her side.  She was, as you probably know, an extremely vibrant and captivating woman, full of the spirit of life.  She is sorely missed by all who knew her, which was considerable here in our small rural environment.  Even today her friends still find it disbelieving that she is gone.  We hold a special celebration for her at her birthday and at her passing day.  Thank you for the recognition of her passing.

Best regards, Linze Brockmeyer

I had known Alice Ann as I called her from the time our Mothers worked together in Humbolt County in Northern CA in the early 1950.'s. I have many fond memories of Alice and her family. Her father died in the Korean War as did mine, although hers might have died in WW2. Our most memorable time was when Alice, myself, our Mothers and her Grand Mother allwent Europe together in 1959. Boy did we have a good time. I'm sure we ran our Moms a bit ragged trying to keep us from running after any cute boys we saw. Teenage girls can be a handfull. I was so shocked and saddened to hear of Alice's passing. I had lost track of her and her family some years ago. She and her family are in my heart.
