Margaret Antoinnette Bush (Starke)

Antoinette Bush Starke

November 16, 1906 - November 18, 1967

Friends here have received word of the death of Mrs. Howard Starke (Antoinette Bush) in a London hospital following three weeks' illness and surgery late in November.  She and her husband, former South Pasadenans, had been living in Athens for a year or more where he, a vice president of the American Cement Company, is working on a joint venture with a Greek company in the construction of a new plant.

Mrs. Stark was the daughter of the late George C. Bush, former superindent of South Pasadena City Schools and the late Mrs. Bush.  Her remains have been entombed at Mountain View Mausoleum, Altadena, in the niche with her father, who died in 1940, and her mother, who died in Hawaii in 1963.

A fine violinist, Mrs. Starke was prominent in music circles here before her marriage and subsequently in Riverside where she and her husband lived for many years.  She continued her active interest in music as well as a hobby of orchid culture, when they moved to Honolulu.

The Starkes had planned to retire in a few more years and locate permanently in Honolulu.
