Sarah Paisley Mulock (Duncan) - Class Of 1936

Sarah Paisley Mulock (Duncan)

Sarah, the daughter of San Gabriel pioneer Daniel Mulock and his second wife Elizabeth, was born May 17, 1919, in their ranch house which still stands on Twin Palms Drive.  A graduate of South Pasadena High School and UC Davis, she earned a teaching credential at Cal State Los Angeles and taught kindergarten in the Alhambra and Monterey Park school systems until her retirement.

An avid traveler, Sarah visited much of the world in her 90 years, including trips through both China and the Soviet Union.  Also an avid gardener, her back yard annually produced beautiful flowers and fruits of all kinds.  For years Sarah volunteered at the museums of the San Gabriel Historical Association and the Pasadena Historical Society, donating many of her parent's posessions to the collections of each.  Sarah was honored to have a garden at the San Gabriel Historical Association named in her honor.

Sarah passed peacefully on January 7, 2010, and is survived by her sons Daniel and Michael, her daughter-in-law Joan, and her grandchildren Colin and Brenna.
