Dan, of Sandy, Utah, died at age 90 due to complications of a broken pelvis. He is survived by his wife Marla; children, Gregory and Kirra Oredson; and four grandchildren.

Dan was born in Glendale and lived in South Pasadena until he graduated from SPHS. He attended Occidental College, graduating in 1955. He loved sports and was active in football, basketball and volleyball. After graduation he served in the USAF flying jets and helicopters. This experience took him to Texas and then to Labrador. In 1958 his new residence became Hawaii where he landed a job as Safety Engineer for Hawaiian Dredging and met Marla Chase, a stewardess for Pan American. Marla and Dan married two years later in Modesto, California.

Dan's career move took him to Allstate Insurance. After a few years he bought his own agency. During this time he also flipped houses and played volleyball for the Outrigger Canoe Club. In 1985 Dan's team was sent to the Nationals where he earned the 'All American' award. In 1995 Dan and Marla bought a historic mansion in downtown Salt Lake City. They took two years to renovate and finally opened the B and B in 1997. The 13 room, 'Inn on Capitol Hill' was sold in 2000.

Dan was active in The Church of Jesus Christ, serving in several capacities. He loved to sing and sang in the church choir. In his 80s, Dan created a program for Sandy City called 'Leave No Trace'. He served 17 schools with this program, winning several awards for his service. Dan was a loving son, spouse, and father. We miss his smile, his hugs and sunny spirit. His life was dedicated to serving God and his fellow man. A life well lived!
