Mrs. John Hawkinson (Lucy Ozone), 47, Route 2, Lawrence, died December 6, 1971 in Borgess Hospital, Kalamazoo.

Mrs. Hawkinson was born in California in 1924, and moved to the Lawrence area last February from Chicago.  She had worked for the Relocation Authority in Washington, DC and later attended the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts.  She was the author of several children's books.

Survivors include her husband, John; two daughters, Ann and Julia at home; her mother, Mrs. Sei Ozone; two sisters, Yoshiko Ozone (SPHS '39) and Tomoye Kubota; and a brother Koho Ozone (SPHS '39).
