Phyllis Jean Robertson (Anderson)

Phyllis Robertson Anderson was born on May 21, 1918 in Pasadena and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 10, 2015. She grew up in South Pasadena and worked as a staff writer for the Pasadena Star-News.

Phyllis graduated from the University of Redlands. While at the university, Phyllis met the love of her life, Emmette Anderson. Their sweet love story continued for 74 years. They lived most of their married life in Fontana and she taught 4th and 5th grades in the Bloomington School District for 30 years. They moved to Yucaipa in 1996 to be closer to their family. Phyllis loved to travel with her husband and they were able to visit many different countries. She was very inquisitive and always was interested in learning new things.

For 60 years she supported her husband in his Lions Club activities. She was involved in many charitable organizations and was always willing to help meet the needs for others. She never knew a stranger and she called everyone by name. While serving the Lord Jesus was the most important thing in her life, she loved her family very much. She was very involved in their lives and prayed for them daily. She loved to play games with her grandchildren and hear all about their lives.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Emmette; two sons, Robert (Sandra) Anderson of Calimesa and Dennis (Jan) Anderson of Willis, Texas; grandchildren Matthew (Kyleene) Anderson, Rebekah Curtis, David (Kirsten) Anderson, Greg (Christina) Anderson, Michael (Tara) Anderson, Mindy (Monty) Rhodes, and Chris Weingartner; many great and great-great grandchildren.
