Helga Schaufler
January 9, 1931 - August 1, 2023
At age 92, in Medford, Oregon. Helga loved growing up in South Pasadena, attending Lincoln Elementary, South Pasadena Junior High, and SPHS. She often shared her memories of riding horses in the Monterey Hills with her friend Cookie and the fun she had with classmates and friends growing up on El Centro Street. In high school, her family moved to Brunswick Avenue.
She is survived by her six children: Cynthia Johnson Lamarche '68, Judith Johnson Wells '69, Paula MacNair Hurff, Carrie MacNair Walkup, Roger MacNair, and Peter MacNair; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Schaufler '51 and sister, Ellen Schaufler Hedtke '54.

Dear Cynthia,
Just glancing through the "memory" section of our alumni website , as I do quite frequently, and unfortunately there was Helga's name. I am saddened that she is gone and I extend my sympathy to you and all of the family. Cookie Cass was my next door neighbor so I saw a lot of Helga as they were really close friends. The two of them talked about boys a lot, I was into cars at the time. I last saw Helga when she was down from Oregon for a visit with a bunch of us at the home of Wally and Tyki Herff in Sierra Madre. Cookie and her sister Chris were there with about six other South Pas grads. This was around 2004. Again my condolences.
