Lynn Morgan (Sullivan)

Lynn Sullivan, a resident of Concord, California was born July 14, 1928 in Hollywood, California and died peacefully on December 1, 2011.  She was the daughter of Colonel Ray S. Morgan and Marjorie Lindsley Morgan.  She attended South Pasadena/San Marino High School and was a student at U.C. Berkeley from 1946 to 1948.  She attended Laney Jr. College to study California Ecology, earning a docent certificate, and serving as a docent in the Natural History section of the Oakland Museum in the early '70s.

In 1949 Lynn married George Ahlgren, whom she had met at U.C. Berkeley.  Lynn's first child was Diane Ahlgren, born in 1950, followed by George Ahlgren, Jr. born in 1952.  Husband George was killed in a military air crash in December 1951.  Lynn married John T. Sullivan in March 1983 and remained married to him until her death.

Lynn was an avid naturalist.  While living in Indiana, she was instrumental in preserving 110 acres, the Lindenwood Nature Preserve.  Locally, she served as a volunteer at The Gardens at Heather Farms in Walnut Creek.  She shared her love of nature with the many children she took on tours through those two parks.

Lynn is survived by her husband, John Sullivan; her sister, JoAnn Morgan; and her children Diane and George Ahlgren and George's wife, Carrie; grandchildren Kyle and Christopher Ahlgren, Rachel McAdams, and Ryan, Chad, Brett, and Tandra Gordon; and great-grandchildren, Emma Rose Ahlgren and DeAnna Trinchera.
