John Thompson

John Day Thompson, 19 years old, son of Dr and Mrs Thomas Lindley Thompson, of 1422 Lyndon Street, South Pasadena, died at the family home late Saturday night after an illness of only a few hours. Death was caused by uremic poison from diabetes.

Young Thompson was a senior in the South Pasadena High School, where he was planning to be graduated in June. He was prominent among the young people and was an active member of the Baraca class of the South Pasadena Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 o'clock in the church of which he was a member. The body was taken to Indianapolis for burial.

The body was escorted from the residence to the church by the student body of the high school. The pallbearers were high school students, and were Walter Lord, Gail VanDenBraak, Fred High, Louis Filley, Arthur Taylor and Bruce Spencer. Reverend George C King officiated, assisted by Reverend Sylvester Newlin, pastor of the Friends' Church at Pasadena. The floral pieces were many and elaborate. Deceased was president of the student body of the high school.
