John Tubbesing

September 8, 1947 - February 13, 2023

John passed away at Pam Specialty Hospital of Las Vegas following a six-month battle with squamous cell cancer at the age of 75 years. John was born to Harold and June Tubbesing in Pasadena. He attended Pasadena City College before entering the Army on July 1, 1969. He served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged on January 2, 1971.

Upon discharge from the military, he traveled extensively throughout Europe, visiting most countries. Upon returning home, he enrolled at Woodbury University graduating with a degree in design. He worked for Barker Brothers Furniture for many years as a designer, later as a buyer for St Joseph Medical Group before retiring in 2010.

John met his partner and later spouse, Tom Huigens in 1981. They lived in Long Beach and Seal Beach, Lakewood, Colorado and Henderson, Nevada during their 41 years together. John is survived by his spouse, Tom Huigens of Henderson, Nevada; brother Roger Tubbesing '60 of San Diego; sister, Linda Tubbesing Coombe '68 of Lakewood, Colorado along with many nieces and nephews. 

He has slipped the surly bonds of earth and danced the skies on laughter-silver wings.
