Patricia Barraclough Mann

November 11, 1930 - October 28, 2021

Resident of Livermore, California, Pat Mann, a valued contributor to Livermore's political and cultural development, has died. Marion (Hughes) and Jordan Barraclough raised their only child in Southern California. Pat attended Occidental College in Los Angeles, then received an MA in Psychology from Mills College. She worked at Juvenile Hall in Oakland before marrying her husband, Lloyd Mann, and moving to Livermore in 1959.

Pat raised a close family and created a native plant oasis on the family's two acre property. She worked for many years at Parental Stress Service (now Family Paths), first as a volunteer on the phone hotlines, then as a supervisor and Board member. She was a lifelong supporter of women's rights and arts organizations such as Planned Parenthood, the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and the Livermore-Amador Symphony Guild. In 1997, AAUW recognized Pat's contributions with the Patricia Mann Research and Projects Endowment. Pat wrote, "The endowment is a legacy I shall treasure all my life."

Pat was predeceased by Lloyd, her husband of 52 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses, Martha (Sam) Lazarakis of San Jose, Lorraine (Victor) Mann of Oakland, and Doug (Tamy) Mann of Livermore, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
