Georgianne Angne (Goddard) - Class Of 1935

Georgianne Angne (Goddard)

Georgianne 'Polly' Angne Goddard passed away on September 29, 2008 from complications of Alzheimers disease. Born on October 2, 1917 in Akron, Ohio, she moved with her mother and father, Marabelle Jefferson Angne and George F Angne, to California in the 1920s. She was preceded in death by her parents and younger sister, Jocelyn.

Growing up in the California sunshine, Polly became an avid swimmer, diver, and tennis player. She graduated from South Pasadena High School and Santa Ana College and worked as a secretary for social services agencies over many years. Her professional skills earned her a spot on the staff of Chapman College World Campus Afloat several times during the '60s and '70s, and she loved and valued her experiences around the world, especially the faculty and students she came to know.

An enthusiastic gardener, reader, camper, animal lover, bridge and scrabble player, and generous friend, Polly studied the Bible and found it gave her a sense of "learning about the God I firmly believe in." She was baptized in the Jordan River in Israel in the 1980s.

Polly is survived by her children, Jocelyn Infantino of Newport Beach, James Goddard of Bakersfield; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. We miss her.
