Joan Archer Gardner died on June 7, 2004. 

Joan was a fabulous mother and devoted her life to her family and extended family.  She is survived by her husband, Alexander "Doc" Gardner '44, and brother Mike Archer '58 and other family members who were also graduates of South Pasadena High School.  Her family misses her very much.

Born Joan Mary Archer on May 19, 1936, lost her valiant two-year fight against cancer June 7, 2004. Joan is survived by her husband of 46 years, Alexander 'Doc' Gardner, daughters Victoria, Barbara, and Susan and her grandchildren Alyssa and Matthew. Joan was a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. She will be remembered for her incredible generosity of spirit, her humor and her love of family and friends. 

Joan leaves this world a better place for having been a part of it and will be deeply missed by all who were privileged to know her.
