Margaret 'Pat' Brett (Narver) - Class Of 1943

Margaret 'Pat' Brett (Narver)

Margaret ("Pat") Elizabeth Brett Narver, born March 17, 1926, Los Angeles to Arthur and Margaret Brett, died peacefully March 1, 2006 in Pasadena.

Although christened with the family name Margaret, her father immediately endeared with the name "Patsy", because she was born on St. Patrick's Day. Pat was raised in South Pasadena and San Marino, and attended Huntington Jr. High and South Pasadena High School. She graduated from Occidental College in three years with a pre-med major and was a member of the Alpha Sorority. After her college graduation, she trained and worked at Huntington Hospital as a lab technician. On June 17, 1950, she married David Lee Narver, Jr., at All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena.

Pat was involved in The Beneficae; the San Marino PTA; was president, historian and treasurer of the Structural Engineers Auxiliary of Southern California; and was Directress of the Altar Guild of the Episcopal Church of Our Saviour in San Gabriel. She also chaired the Grad Night festivities for the Class of 1969 of San Marino High School.

Pat is survived by her husband of 55 years, David, her children Margaret (Ken) Blair of Arcadia, Robert (Christie) of Lake Forest, William (Cheryl) of Albany, Oregon, and grandchildren Karen and Janice Blair, Andrew, Katherine, Lee and Rebecca Narver, and Joseph Peterson.
