Whitley Ray

June 11, 1909 - May 2, 1987

Los Angeles, California:  After graduation, I returned to Fairbanks, Alaska to rejoin my family. With the exception of the World War II years, when I worked for the Army in Seattle, I was a 'heavy-duty' equipment mechanic and operator in an Alaska gold mining camp during the 1930s and 1940s. I married in 1954 and acquired two sons, as well as a wife. We moved back to L.A. in 1956.
