Barbara Blanche Jones (Williams) - Class Of 1933

Barbara Blanche Jones (Williams)

Barbara Jones Williams, born January 7, 1914 in San Bernadino, passed away on April 28, 2007 in Agoura Hills.

Barbara graduated from South Pasadena High School in 1933. She was a pioneer in the San Fernando Valley Bar Association. In December 1955 she became the first administrative director of that organization. For almost twenty years she managed the office and oversaw the Lawyer Referral Service and Legal Aid, coordinated the Lawyers' Wives volunteers, served as production manager of the Association's musicals and edited the monthly publication of the Bar Bulletin. For another two decades she spearheaded the volunteer Senior Citizen Legal Program. Barbara retired in 1993. In 1997 she was recognized for her professionalism, dedication and charm with the SFVBA President's Award.

Barbara is survived by her son, Evan C. Williams III and his wife Suzana Williams; three grandchildren, Evan C. Williams IV, Morgan E. Williams and Afton J. Williams and her sister Mary Lou Rickard. According to Barbara's wishes, there will be no service. We know Barbara is happy as she takes her seat at the table in Heaven just waiting to be the first to yell out B-I-N-G-O-! She will be missed by all who knew her.
