Gaye Roberts Edwards, president of the Roseville Republican Women's Club and a director of the Roseville Arts Society, died at age 63 in the Roseville Community Hospital.

The San Francisco native has lived in Loomis for the past 22 years. She was an officer of the Loomis Friends of the Library and was instrumental in building the new library off Horseshoe Bar Road. She was also a volunteer for the American Cancer Soceity and a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She also worked in her daughter Sally Edwards' running shoe shop, called 'Fleet Feet,' in Sacramento.

She is survived by her husband, John Perry Edwards of Loomis; three sons, Perry Edwards of Auburn, Chris Edwards of Weimar, and Andy Edwards of Los Gatos; and a daughter, Sally Edwards of Sacramento. She also left her father H. Roberts; and two sisters, Anne Roberts Nelson (SPHS '39) and Jeanne Roberts Gillette (SPHS '42), all of Los Angeles. Gaye had seven grandchildren.
