Fergus Fuson Young

Fergus Young died April 1, 1999 of heart failure after several years of heart and lung problems, in Augusta, Georgia.

He was a long-time resident of Georgia having lived in Thomson, Augusta, and Martinez.  He retired as Vice President of Thomson Manufacturing Company of Thomson, Georgia, one of the nation's largest manufacturers of men's slacks.  He was a major in the USMCR, wounded on Guadacanal after earning his commission on American Samoa.  He served as president of Thomson Rotary as well as being involved with many community and church programs.

He is survived by Olympia, his wife of 54 years; four sons, four granddaughters; one great-granddaughter; and his brother Gene Young '40.
