John "Ned" Long passed away June 23, 2002 at his home in Tahoe City, California of cancer of the liver.  He and his wife of 54 years moved to Tahoe in 1960.

He was a "master fly (fishing) tier," who traveled extensively demonstrating his art.  He is survived by his wife Betty, son James, daughters Katie Stewart and Patricia Wagner, two grandsons and four granddaughters.
