I lost my only brother, Gary, this year.  Gary was true to South Pasadena High School.  He had a South Pasadena High School license plate holder on his cars and often came out wearing a school hat or shirt.  I can not say how much fun you could have with this guy.

I will never foget Gary's and Marilyn's wedding.  It was a wonderful party.  I really can't say I will never forget because I can't remember the other guys at the Pacific Union Club who fell in the swimming pool with Bill Stewart and me.  I am not sure if Gary was in the water.  We learned later that before Gary and Marilyn decided to get married that Marilyn had a few boy friends hanging around the house and Gary was one of them.  Marilyn's mother looked at all of them and asked Marilyn who she liked the best.  Marilyn said she liked Gary.  Marilyn's mother asked Marilyn, "Why do you like Gary?  he never talks, is very quiet all the time while the others talk, laugh, and have fun."  Marilyn is alleged to have said that "Gary was the best kisser."

Gary and Marilyn were an inspirational couple who possessed a capability to energize and impel kindness in others.  We will always remember the party that was given for them by the people of Burlingame who chose them as the Couple of the Year.
