Vicki Sager (Richer) - Class Of 1978

Vicki Sager (Richer)

Vicki Sager Richer  '78  died April 14, 2005.  My best friend since 5th grade, she died from injuries suffered while riding her motorcycle.  Having found friends and companionship in Northern California with a bunch of folks that liked to spend their weekends riding their Harleys and partying sober.  A group called the Messengers.

It was on one of these rides that a gal in the front of the pack laid her bike down and rag-dolled down the highway.  Vicki was the third bike behind her.  Vicki swerved to avoid hitting the fallen rider and when the gal that had rag-dolled got up, Vicki Jo was face down, unconscious on the pavement.  The helmet she wore was one of those shorty-just-covering-the-cranium "Beanies" with no foam or real protection from a hard fall.  She was helicoptered to a hospital where she remained in a coma for about five days when her body finally just let go.  She was able to donate six body organs and was cremated the following day.

She is survived by her children Joshua and Jacquie Richer.

Amy, I remember you and Vicki were inseparable from the first time I saw you both in 7th grade. The world has lost a beautiful person. RIP Vicki.
